Car is an mid 07 and coils have been replaced at some point with Bosch units,,,yeah I know they need to go, Car was fine yesterday but this morning we we going some where and out of the blue the car started stuttering, Tried shutting off and restarting it but that didn't help. Ended up limping it home and got out scanner. Miss fire on Cylinder 4 which seems to be a common failure on N51/2. The extra heat of valvetronic motor maybe? Grabbed one off the X3 and swapped it out now it's smooth again.

So back to N52 world issues I drove the X3 home from wife's house last week well It was a 5 cylinder all the way home. swapping a spare coil in sorta solved it and reset of check engine life. but next day it has zero go power. Pulled out of driveway and car fell flat on it's face. Pulled codes today as I had a LONG WEEK. Pulled the beauty cover ran the valvetronic adaptations and it immediately failed with a 2A46 code. So started looking around and duh low and behold the valvetronic motor plug was disconnected. One of the plastic ears was broken so it just slides off but ZIP Tie's fix all.

Car roared backed to life and for s and g's I did reset the adaptations.

Also the random no start issues on the N51 Vert seem to be resolved with a simple K5 relay on the fuse panel. It would get hot and stay closed which would prevent the starter from getting a signal.
