Valvetronic calibration in INPA?
HI guys,
I was asking for valve cover gasket change some time ago. Me and my friend successfully (I hope lol) changed the gasket (+ ESS gasket and valvetronic motor gasket) and reassembled the engine. We did not start the car yet due to different opinion I heard about valvetronic calibration (i.e. just turn on ignition vs calibration with some software tool). I have e90 325i 2006. I want to do the software calibration and I have INPA tool. Is it possible to do the calibration through INPA? I do not have it with me right now, I will only have it on a borrowed laptop in evening, and I just wanted to see beforehand how to do it instead of figuring it out when already connected to a car. I cannot seem to find any specific instruction from people except for them saying "just use some software for the calibration". Is INPA enough or should be some other tool? |

I have done many valve cover jobs on an E9x and never do the valvetronic procedure. It works itself out. You can do it with INPA, but it's a lot easier if you can get your hands on ISTA.
