VO NUMBER???
Ok so I'm new to this whole coding thing but I'm trying recode the smc modules in my headlights and I understand that you have to have your VO Number and VIN number loaded into the NCS expert to do so... my question is where do I find my VO number??? Can I get it from INPA or something?

In the normal process of running NCS expert for the first time
when you read the car it shows the VO which is not actually a number but a list of installed options. When you do this you want to save the trace file which contains all the original options for a backup before doing things that involve programing coding or changing the VO. You can also get the list of installed options by running a Vin checker. mdecoder used to be a good one . I have heard reports it went to a payed service. |

That is as much VO as any of us no about .
It is a list of the same options you would see running a Vin checker though the Vin checkers do not show the battery programming as far as I know. If you modify the VO it won't be the same as factory so its a good idea to keep a copy of the master file , the first trace file generated when reading the car. |
