Engine guard / Splash guard
Forgive me for what is undoubtedly a stupid question, but I've searched the forum (and other places) and haven't seen an answer.
First, what the heck is the actual name of the plastic bit that runs under the car from the front bumper under the engine? Seems like everyone calls it something different. Which leads me to my next question: where can I get one? The people who shipped my car seem to have ripped it out of the mounting bolts in such a way that I can't just put new bolts in, so I'm looking for a whole new piece and can't seem to find one online. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

I've always called it a "front lower engine shield".

I saw somebody refer to it as "the diaper", so that's what I go with.
ECS calls it "belly pan" and I believe it comes with parts 11 and 12x2 and the 3 nut clips across the back edge already installed. Make sure you buy a sack of screws and nut clips. (Both of which come in way too many varieties. Those are the part numbers I used to replace my diaper and both side boxes.)

Pays to shop around. Dealer charges close to 300 for this.
You can find it for about 75 or more less. Search on the part number. |

TheBMWPartStore is the cheapest I've found so far. $199 for the diaper.
Their service used to be pretty slow, but it looks like they've improved. When I went to replace my "diaper" I found that both left and right side boxes were also broken.
