Just bought an E91, exhaust suggestions?

I've got a Stromung exhaust on my E36 and I'd love a similar tone and sound level. Loudish but not obnoxious with nice off throttle burble.

What's out there that you guys like? I originally was hoping to get another Stromung but it looks like they only make it for the e92.

I and many on the sight have the factory MPE system. I think Active Autowerk's still makes one for our car.

I have a Stromung on my E30 M3 and yes they are nice sounding exhausts.

Do you think a resonator delete is needed to get those burbles on downshifts and when you go off throttle or will just a sportier back box get me there?

Probably yes and a tune. Mine, I kept the resonator because I did not want the pops and bangs. I like a little exhaust but not overbearing. My E36 M3 has a Remus Cat back and it was too quiet so I had a UUC System U that I put on and that was significantly louder.

The turner exhaust sounds almost like the bmw PE but for 1/3 the price. Great option imo.

I have the Active Autowerke 'gen 2' axle back (which has the little resonator dongle thing to eliminate drone). Very happy with it.

Rogue makes nice stuff and their Ikon muffler looks OE-ish.

If I hadn't lucked into finding a PE, that would be on my short list.

If money is no object, I would consider the Laptorr.

I ordered Laptorr for my 06 330i. Gonna be about a 4 month wait.

Go on . . .

Pardon the obvious questions:

1) Any drone?
2) How is the volume level for normal daily driving?

Have you run any other setups to compare to?

There aren't too many detailed first-hand accounts of the Laptorr out there.

No drone at all. I went with comfort, not sport, as this is my daily and I can't stand drone. It can be driven quietly with gentle throttle and low rpm. It is not loud in the cabin. In fact, I wish it was louder at 5000+ rpm. Made me wonder if I should have gone with sport instead.

Comfort is a cat back, equal length system which deletes the secondary cats. There is a resonator which I believe is different from that of the sport, if sport has one at all. i was told that the resonator was the difference between comfort and sport.

Here are some photos of my install.

you can find some sound clips on my IG. They're mostly recorded from the interior. The intake (euro intake, K&n filter, lid removed) is equally loud so it's a perfect balance between front and back.

This one was a GoPro mounted outside. I think I was in 3rd gear which sounds so good at high rev under load:

Interesting, looks like comfort isn't an option on their site anymore.

I'm planning on doing headers, so losing the secondary cats would be a bummer.

Ya, but I wonder if you go with sport if headers would be too loud. Since comfort is quiet enough for headers, I'm considering high flow cat headers rather than catless.
