E60 N52 OEM exhaust manifolds on E92 N52 car
just a quick question- does the combo in the title fit? or does the E60 N52 headers need some adapting?
bought at a good price a pair of OEM "shorty header style" E60 catted manifolds and would like to use those in my E92 thanks

Will do that
I am sure that head side they will bolt up, and they should clear the AC compressor fine (same engine). I hope they will clear the chassis too... The main thing that i suspect is the flanges exhaust side, like angle and tube length. oh well, another fun project i guess |

E60 ones won't fit. They bolt onto the head the same but they attach to the midpipe at a different length/angle VS the E9X chassis
did you end up getting the ones with the long or short cats? Ive been on the hunt for some for my E61 |

I'm interested in doing the same but in a e90 sedan. Where'd you get the headers?

I did the swap from the classig lug-style ones some years ago, they're very cool to look at but barely felt any difference... maybe just a slight more refined sound, but it could be placebo effect
They're the european 2006 330i ones Last edited by PhaceN52; 02-25-2025 at 05:26 AM.. |

I ended up doing the same - found EURO 330i headers for a steal (200 € for both).
They are indeed the same noise level and signature as the log style ones, which surprised me to be honest. They fit and work flawlessly, a bit of a pain to install them using just a jack but feasible I guess there are some 5hp more in them? who knows ![]()

right P/N for E9x chassis is 18407563726 and 18407563725 for the EU shorty headers OEM cats
last pic is shorties vs logs ![]()

Okay, thank you! Looking up the part numbers it appears that the "shorties" are from the N53, which we didn't get here in the US. Finding a set for sale is proving a little difficult also but maybe a set will pop up eventually.
The main reason I'd want them is for the tiny bit of sound and performance they might offer and my state (New York) requires annual OBD2 inspections so catless headers are a no go for me. |

Yeah that might be the best route for catted headers (besides the stock ones...) for US owners. I did read something about the aFe cats falling apart but maybe they fixed that issue by now.
I just figured scoring a set of OEM "shorties" would be much cheaper than the aFe headers. |
