Bmw n52 oil leak
Hello so my story begins when i bought the car 2 years ago from previous owner who got it for 5 years. He told me that the car drinks about 1l of oil per 4000 km which i got information from forums that is not bad for that engine.I drove it for 3 months which is about 3000 km and i didnt need to fill up the oil at all and car was not loosing water or oil in that period. One day i was driving from work and it started to run on 5 clynder and i thought it was just bad spark plugs or ignition coils but it was not (on 6 cylinder the valves was burnt) My local mechanic rebuilt the engine
Cylinder head went for machine work All the gaskets were replaced including oil pan gasket Water pump Chain Valve seals Mechanic did the compression test and it was fine. So after the rebuilt the car started to loose coolant and oil. I had to fill up the coolant every 2 weeks and oil 1 l in 1500 km After 1 months of driving it i found the hose that was leaking and replaced it(i still need to add some coolant like 0.5l every 3000 km) And oil 1l in 1500 km I drove the car like that for a year thinking it was okay since i was reading it was normal consumption for n52 engine.Until today when i noticed in my new garage when revving the car that there is a mixture of oil and i think water or maybe condensation. Also when i changed few weeks ago spark plugs in the chambers of spark plugs there was a little pinch of oil So my question is there any point of rebulding this engine since i drove 1 year with mixing oil and water (did it damage my block or pistons) And car runs fine with full power and no other problems. And what could it be the problem? Head gasket Oil piston rings Oil cooler gaskets Pcv valve There is no smoke comming from the car while acceleration.Only white smoke when the car is cold and outside temperature is cold. |
