Z4 artwork from BMW - anyone else?
Back when I purchased my first Z4MC in 2007, BMW sent me this cool piece of art. I had it thumbtacked to the wall in my den for years. We moved a year ago and I just dug it out and did a half-assed frame job and put it back up. Just wondering if anyone else here got one of these back in the day, and still has it? Pretty cool memento...
Nice addition to my little collection, which includes my fave Z4MC poster...

Ah! I've never been able to get my hands on one of the Moupe posters, only the roadster. This reminds to me look anew!
I still have the artwork that BMW sent. I never framed it or anything...just squirreled it away as a private indulgence. It's still in the original mailer and everything.

I offered to buy a piece of dealer showroom artwork when a local dealer was closing down. Kept asking about it and was told they’d let me know.
3 months later they were shut, and the showroom was bare. It was the blue Z4MC on a mountain road promo photo, but split into 9 x 18” panels and displayed with a gap between each. |

Can you post a pic of it? I want to do a better job framing mine, perhaps yours will give me some inspiration on how to do it.
The blue coupe poster is indeed hard to find, but they do turn up periodically on Ebay, and generally aren't too outrageously priced. What was expensive was getting it framed professionally, but it looks fantastic. Anyone else not seeing the pics above? They're linked from my SmugMug account and should display properly. Perhaps it was down for a bit last night.

Props for the R32 poster as well, I had a Reflex Silver R for many years and absolutely loved that car. Nice to see these bits of auto-art being appreciated.

I loved my .:R32, but the comically-bolstered factory Konig seats just did NOT fit my anatomy at all. I couldn't drive it for longer than about 45 minutes before excruciating back pain set in. It led me to sell it at less than 2 years old, in favor of a new E90 3-series, which had just come out. Less than 2 years later, I HAD to have the Z4MC, but hey, it was worth it to bail early for! Contrast those seats with the Z4MC sport seats, which I can do 8 hours in without a piss break and get out feeling like I just had a massage and a JD Single Barrel® on the rocks. Go figure. Did you see the pristine, low mileage .:R32 that sold recently at Bring-a-Trailer? $44k. Wow. https://bringatrailer.com/2019/03/05/__trashed-37/

The .:R32 is still one of the only cars I've sold that I now regret. But it did go to a great owner in CO who kept in touch and took wonderful care of it.
I did see that auction, it's crazy to watch some of those prices climb. I'm a small dude so I LOVED the seats, and really appreciated how special that car felt every time I turned the key. Fun fact, I owned my .:R32 while a good friend owned a Z4MC. Fast forward a few years and when I was looking for a new garage toy the MCoupe was the only thing I wanted. The Coupe has that same special feel but is obviously much more car than the .:R ever was, hopefully I'll learn from past mistakes and not let this one go. |

Trivia: the red Scirocco above the Z4MC poster is my old Scirocco 16V. That pic was taken by Les Bidrawn in a 2002 photo shoot for european car. It finally got published in the March 2005 issue. It was a cool article about both generations, and a buddy with a Mk1 provided the other car. I loved that car and for a while it was my "other" car when I had the first Z4MC - not exactly a practical pair! It's a great pic but I need to get it into a better frame someday.
