Is this car worth it? (e92 335i)

Im reposting it to this section because it didn't get any views
Went to check out a 2007 BMW E92 335i (N54) – need some advice

Hey guys, I went to see a 2007 E92 335i today. It’s a US import with a rebuildable title, and I could use some opinions before making a decision.

Specs & maintenance:

N54 engine with index 12 injectors

New seals, cleaned engine, new radiator hoses

New bearings, new transmission oil, engine oil changed every 7k km

New HPFP and VDO water pump

New suspension

New serpentine belt and pulleys

Refurbished alternator

New Bosch spark plugs & ignition coils

Almost everything OEM (except the water pump)

Full stainless steel exhaust system with muffler

chargepipe + downpipe and tune for around 400hp

Turbos are good (they were checked last year and they dont rattle)

I didn't check the underrcariedge but he did send me some pictures and it was looking good.

The downsides:

Price is on the high side – definitely not cheap

Front fender is damaged

Hood and front bumper are in rough shape (bumper not aligned properly)

Rear bumper has a small dent

Driver seat is ripped

Throttle body will need attention soon (It can rev up on its own when cold, no codes)

Had one accident in the US

Current mileage: 183k km (real)

Owned for the last 4.5 years by the current seller

So overall it seems mechanically solid and well-maintained, but cosmetically it needs some work — and it’s quite expensive for what it is (i could get eu version but no work done)

What do you guys think?

How expansive is expansive?
How much to source the parts and make it right?
What time, tools, space do you have to DIY it, or will you be paying someone to make it right?
Sure nothing is bent, twisted or misaligned from the accident?
How long has it been on the market?

I'd be doing the math on all that then its really your want verse his.

Okey, basically for 10% more i can get f30 335i. Parts are cheap (i don't know about the aligment of the front bumper) i don't know if everything is straight, the pictures don't look that bad it has been on the market for 1 month. Im just not sure if its the right car but on the other hand the car looks good and sounds good. It's well serviced (on paper, i don't know how good they did it). So with everything (Winter tyers, insurance, fixes) im looking at price of 2011-2013 e92 335i n55 or early f30 335i. He also said the whole car (with parts) costed him a price around 2015 435i or 50-60% more than the car is priced.

Doesn't really matter what he has spent, that's his choice, plus the car is bent. What its worth is what the market will pay. If its parts it probably 50% of its asking price. A complete non bent 4 door is perhaps better then bent 2 door.

I have 2x 330d, an e92 and e93. Both wanted 17-18K, I felt they were 12-13 as they both had 3-4k of mechanical quoted repairs. We settled on 15 as they were both M sports in vgc and 3lt diesels not all that common through the markets. I am doing the work with son as a get to know the car type thing.

Think if you can't sight the chassis, or do work yourself I'd be weary. Adding up what things are worth is a bit moot in my book. Bit hear say and emotional until money hits the bank. Insurance will probably write it off rather than repair, so its worth "their" market value in reality. Of course you can pay to insure it for a set figure but that may bit you over time. Maybe ask insurance what they think its worth.

It sounds like he has had salvage rights or no insurance as is its a repairable write off and he has it. Makes me wonder why then does he not have it fixed. Maybe he was quoted far more than he expected, don't know.

Okey, so The car is US-import its legally registered in EU and he drives it. The crash was in US and he bought it in EU(previous owner did the fixes). The front bumper is missaligned right were the crash was and on the side where fender is broke. (i could get front end carrier for around 250-500euro).
